Dragon Mum - Legendary Mothers's Day Dragon

Meet the true mother of dragons! This is a gift for all the legendary mums who read us epic adventures and tales of magic and fire-breathing dragons. Happy Mother's Day!

Mother and baby dragon with detachable base plate and crystals.

Material: Bambu PLA Matte Pink for the base plate, PLA Silver for the dragon and baby dragon and PETG Translucent Light Blue for the crystals.

Print recommendations: Designed as a single colour profile. Full colour coming soon! Recommend setting seam position to back as per 3MF file. Dragon and baby are designed to be print-in-place. Crystals and base plates are printed separately.

Supports: Yes. Supports required - Enable tree (auto) supports and set to “on build plate only” in the Bambu slicer.

Use fine tweezers to remove supports - take caution removing supports around tiny toes.

The crystals: Generally the crystals will fit in any of the base plate holes however some were designed to tilt at a slight angle for best effect I recommend matching the printing order to the base place holes. See below.

Super nice. Printed at 75% with sunlu PLA+ on A1 mini Dragon: silk light gold Base: cherry red Crystals: green (and silk black/blue). The gold dragon came out great, but the other colors clashed a bit. I would recommend softer colors, like the original. Minor comments: * the tree supports brim completely fused and I had to cut all of them. It was hard and time consuming. * the text banner ended up a bit more uneven than expected * no idea of crystal order. Maybe add a number underneath

Hi @fruxo. Thank you for the feedback. I found that the support were a bit fused when I printed it a similar size also. I might look into solutions for this down the track. The crystal order is also a great idea! I will add a number to the base of each when i get around to it also! Thank you for the suggestions. I am so glad it turned out well. Love the colours you used.

I will try and print it over the next few days. Looks nice. Do you think it would scale well in a smaller size?

Hi @fruxo, I have actually printed the dragon at 10 cm in length rather than 15 cm (scale everything to around) 73.33% for that size. it did hold up very well but I found the toes were a little more fragile than I would like. As you can see from the photos comparing the two sizes below it holds up quite well. If you do scale it down my advice is be very careful removing supports around the toes on both the mum and baby dragon. Happy printing!

Thanks @user_3638496983 and thank you for the boost! I tried to reduce print time as much as possible while maintaing quality - apologies that it is still a bit slow
