Hi all this has been a long time in the making as i have been distracted getting into trying out local markets which has been fun.
I wanted to replicate what I made for the xtouch using the cyd but for the panda touch, also in doing so giving it a bigger battery life portable or “off the dock” (kinda, i.e not directly wired in) so i made the bigger version which can be set at either 30 or 60 degree viewing angle on your desk.
To do this you will need the following:
1 x usb adapter from btt (i managed to wangle just the circuit board for a cheaper amount, thanks Luke Harrison!)
4 x M2.5x5 mm screws to attach the adpater to the print (unless you have the ones that came with your screen free)
8 x M3x4 to attach the case together and attach the ups board to the print
1 x 5V UPS board (https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyKCpMj)
1 x 10x15mm toggle switch (https://a.aliexpress.com/_EzZxyQj)
5 x 8x2mm magnets to secure the screen to the dock (https://a.aliexpress.com/_EICh7rD)
1 x spare USB C cable to sacrifice for the circuit, you should have a draw full
The steps for assemble should follow the flow of my images if i did it correctly
One little note per my highlighted photo, don't solder too close to the fixing hole i trimmed this back with some flush cutters else it will not sit flat on the mounting holes when screwed down. I also trimmed my UPS case as worried it would catch the lid but not sure it would after some changes i made.
In have tested this for a few days now and it seems to last around 10.5 hours on a full charge, sure this will differ on your stand by time and how mant times you tap the screen for updates but a fair old time compared to the 30 min on the in built batteries.
If you notice any thing that needs changing or have any ideas shout and hopefully can include.
