Description

Love Alocasias but you heard they are a little bit of drama queens? No worries! Here’s a 3d printable model of Alocasia Micholitziana Frydek plant with six easily detachable leaves that can be used as coasters.

Description and assembly

The model contains these objects: 5 pots, soil, 2 stems and 6 leaves.

Assembly is very easy. No magnets or glue are needed. Soil goes in the pot, stems go in the soil and leaves go on top of the stems.

The assembled model has approx dimensions: 20x20x35cm.

About the model

The model is divided in several objects:

- Plant pot – You can choose 5 different pot designs. Approx. dimensions: 65x65x55mm.

- Soil – Contains 4 holes for stems. Two holes are shallower (15mm), the other two are deeper (20mm).S

- Leaves – The leaves are divided into parts and pre-colored. While printing the leaves there will be 7 color changes. Approx leaf dimensions are: 65x135x2mm. Dimensions vary depending on the leaf design.

- Stems – Stem dimensions approx: 60x220x5mm. Supports are needed only for the tips of the stems.

Colors:

I printed stems and leaves in dark and mid green color. The pot is white and the soil is dark brown.

Pot designs:

You can choose five different pot designs.

Print profiles and suggestions

Printing suggestions:

- Use slighty higher nozzle and bed temperature for first layer when printing leaves to have less gaps between colors

- Print slower for better quality, set initial layer and initial layer infill to 50 mm/s, outer wall, inner wall and top surface to 100 mm/s

- Supports are needed only for the tips of the stems.

Suggestions for Orca slicer 2.0.0. or above:

- Use scarf seam for printing the pot. With scarf seam the pot is almost seamless. Use these settings in Quality tab:

    o Outer wall width: 0.6mm,

    o Scarf joint seam: Contour,

    o Conditional scarf joint: on,

    o Wall generator: Arachne,

    o Wall printing order: Inner/Outer/Inner.

- Print the stems with Mouse ear type of brim.

- Up the Bottom surface flow ratio to 1.2 so the leaves (printed face-down) have no gaps between colors.
