Description

I made this as I was in need of a dust extractor for my carbon fibre endeavour although it seems that I will end up making an extraction table or some sort of cyclone separator adjustment as it works now although its filter gets clogged up quite fast go figure…

But for now, being a Noctua fanboy I decided to make a little extraction with easily replaceable filters that can be easily attached to a 120mm fan with this modular system so it can be turned into what looks like that cool Noctua desk fan they teased us about years ago with a number of hoods some save some lot less safe with build in the base that accommodates PWM controller, not the Noctua one, unfortunately, I'm a big fan but won't pay 30 quid just for that. I do have a base mount without the space for the controller so if you want to use that and have it to the side or any other controller you have the option or if you just want to keep it simple and get a 5V USB-powered fan and plenty of them have inline speed control, not them Noctua ones tho.

So here is the fan I'm using can any other 120mm fans I would say for a desk fan you definitely don't need this much power but for dust extraction, I definitely do need it:

PWM controller I used:

I just hot glued the filter in the thought of making something more profound but it works you can just tape it in as well if you want to make it easier to service. For the filter, it depends on what you want to use it for whether it's dust, paint, odour, or soldering fumes. I would suggest you start looking for ones for paint booths of HEPA vacuum ones like these:

Aww and for nuts and bolts I use m5x25 for the stand I think as I just moved and have no idea where is my stand but for the fan itself I use 5 M4x35 bolts and M4 nuts.
