Simple small box with customizable text. Fast print, no supports. Fill them with candy or coins for a great Valentines Day gift. To prevent the narrow part of box top lifting from the plate, I added some “mouse ears” to increase the surface area. Simply remove these after printing.
Customizing Text
The top should be printed face down on either smooth or textured plate. Text is added with the text tool in the slicer. There is a copy of the top off-plate so you can customize your text. Once you have customized the text, you will need to “sink” the text so it is flush with the top, then turn it over 180 degrees to print it.
Select a new or existing plate and clone the “master” onto that plate.
Select the text in the object screen, r-click and select edit text.
Change the text and center it.
Then select the text in the object screen and lower it .4mm from 5.2 to 4.8. This will make the text flush with the top surface.
Now rotate the top 180 degrees to lay flat on the plate. (or use “lay on face”).
