Description

Here we have a fully working Ratchet, it comes complete with an M8 socket, although this a fully working Ratchet it's only really useful as a fidget toy or something as it's made out of plastic, PLA in this case, I just wanted to have a go at designing such a thing and it came out great.

This model started off small and what I have uploaded is scaled from 100 to 150 I printed the smaller model initially, it works well and then a model at 120 and this also works well as in the photos.

You will need a couple of pen springs or similar and a couple of 2mm Counter sunk screws to put this together, don't tighten the screws all the way into the internal direction levers as they need to move with the spring action, I used 2mm dome headed screws initially and there was still clearance for the toggle lever.

The toggle lever and the internal part are a tight fit I filed the end of the pin and then gently hammered the 2 together in situ as in the photos, take note of the orientation of the internal part as its quite important for it to be fully functional.

The toggle switch has clockwise and anti clockwise rotation in the left and right positions the toggle facing down freewheels and in the up position it locks the drive.

The top cover is a push fit as is the socket, but could be glued in if you are confident with the movement etc, on the smaller models I glued the cover on.

The RAW Model File is for the 3 Sockets on their own should you wish to down scale the model down.

Cool model to design and Print and the ratchet noise is sure to get on everyone's nerves :)
