Description

A small plug for refilling liquid or (small) bulk material.
I designed it because I wanted to have a possibility to refill the cartridge of my automatic soap dispenser (Sagrotan No Touch).

The opening is around 20 mm which allows me to pour liquid soap through it without the need of a funnel.

Print it with TPU 95A (Tested with eSUN TPU-95A).

  • Print both parts (socket version with or without band)
  • Print the knife guide (optional)
  • Cut a circular opening with a diameter of 28.5 to 29 mm (using the tool created a 28.6 mm hole in my case)
  • If you use the knife guide
    • Drill a 4 - 5 mm hole in the center of the position where the plug should be installed
    • Place the tool with the pin into the hole
    • Use a sharp knife in the slot and turn the knife guide with it (or turn the part, like I did it)
    • Be careful and wear cut-resistant gloves or similar
  • Deburr the edge and clean the container from chips
  • Push the socket into the hole with the orientation you want it to have later. This step can be tricky. It helps to use a large screwdriver to squeeze it step by step.
  • Connect the plug to the band by pulling the opening in the band around the groove in the plug (if applicable)
  • Close the socket with the plug

In my case it leaks air with a low rate at the connection between the original cartridge and the socket if squeezed . I tested it under water and there are some bubbels visible. So only use it on top as refill opening on stuff that does not require to be perfectly air-tight. Don't use it on pressurized stuff, too.
The wall thickness on the cartridge I used is around 1 mm.
