Preface: The Goofy Goober A1 Face plate!
Based on a similar design, I felt the need to modify my A1 mini to fit in with the rest of my surrounding models. As many of you know, I have tons of 2d wall art models that mimic similar looks.. Goofy, Odd, etc. Its a good look for many of them! Once I seen a similar deisign for the A1 mini.. I knew I had to make a version of my own! A few clicks here, and a few clicks there… Goofy Goober faceplate was alive! You Can watch his eye spin round and round and bounce back and forth as retractions and extrusions bring your models to life! Goob dont mind though… Goob is just happy to be squirting plastic and bouncing around!
The profile included for this model was done on my A1 mini but can easily be done on any 0.4 nozzle using printer. The 3mf comes precolored and ready to print at 0.16 layer height! No support needed! Print time comes in at around 45-55mins if I recall properly.
Post Printing: One area to pay attention to once printed, is the tiny holes on the side that allow cool air to enter the hotend area.. Stringing can happen here very easily! NO worries though! You CAN use a torch but you have to do so very lightly and quick! Otherwise, deformations will occur in the walls of this area!! My PERSONAL SUGGESTION is as follows: Use a 1/16th drill bit to clean up and open the holes fully. Once youve done that, you can use a fine razor blade OR probably even the scraper that most folks have printed that comes on the standard SD card with the A1 machines! Use your razor to scrap the strings and fine particles off your model, and then give it a quick blast of heat from a lighter.. your model should then look good and function fully!
Post a make! Id enjoy seeing the Goob squirt plastic in your home as well!
Enjoy!
