Description

Hey there, I designed this stand primarily so I can 3d scan Inline skates but also so as a maintenance stand so I can work on the skates to dismantle them install new parts etc. I know this is a niche within a niche but this stand can be utilised for shoes trainers and boots for the same purpose, such as painting or renovation.

Features

It has been designed to be inserted into the skate or shoe so that you can work on the bottom/sole with a slight inclination to make it easier to work on and prevent any movement.

I've designed in a keyhole perfect for M6 screws, this can be utilised to secure the skate to the stand in the upright orientation using the frame mounting.

I've included my logo as a separate part to be glued on for a pop of colour if that's your thing.

There are recesses on the base to attach adhesive rubber patches to prevent the stand sliding on slippery surfaces.

Print Settings

I recommend printing this in a good filament with good mechanical properties ASA or ABS will be great , PLA+ will be fine but I highly recommend eSun PLA-ST for a good balance between durable and easy to print. I've included a print profile for PLA+ which you can easily add your own filament profile, I don't want to provide an ABS profile as this part will be prone to warping so you need to get your own filament dialed in.

NO SUPPORTS REQUIRED

This does not have a huge bottom surface area and it is tall so I recommend and have included a brim but if your bed adhesion is bang on then send it without the brim.

I've turned off the aux fan, it caused more warping issues than things it solves on prints like this.

I recommend plenty of walls, this profile has 5 but add more for additional strength.

Infill should always be gyroid, this profile has 15%.

The layer height on this profile is 0.2mm for speed. drop it down if you want it to look smoother, bump it up for a quicker print but watch out for the flow rate.
