Description

Slim and beautifully integrated MagSafe phone holder for the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ 2022+ model. Works with original Apple MagSafe chargers or 3rd party chargers with same diameter (56.5 mm). Tested on normal road as well as on track and curbs and the phone is firmly held in place.

The base is printed in TPU to allow it to flex slightly for a secure wedge fit behind the infotainment screen bezel without scratching the interior or needing adhesives. Use the integrated cable holder and then route the cable under and behind the glove box into the gap behind the glove box and up and into the 12 V socket. Print with 0.2 mm layer height in TPU, 15% infill and no supports.

The head is angled 30 degrees and can hold a normal sized iPhone both in portrait and landscape position without interference (tested with a iPhone 13). Print with 0.16 mm layer height in PLA or PETG with 15% infill, use a brim but no supports.

For RHD cars: Mirror the models in your slicer and screw the mount on counterclockwise.

The base fit like a glove, and doesn't even need any glue, I think. Generally, I think this model is fantastic. Great job. Two questions. 1. Do you think this charger will fit well? 2. I can't get the mount to print. PETG, ASA, PLA, Engineer and Textured Plate, With Glue, Without Glue - it always falls down mid-way. Any tips? I got an X1C. D.

The base fits without glue, you don’t want to mess up the interior if you ever take it off. The charger should fit but will require glueing to the mount. How does the print fail? Maybe you need to increase the bed adhesion by upping the bed temp or print slower if you’re using a build plate that doesn’t offer enough adhesion.

Will give it a go now, and also check if my charger will fit. Thanks again for being so responsive!

Do you have any pictures on how you routed the cable?

no but it’s really easy, there is a gap behind the glove box that you can feed the cable up through into the 12V cigarette output

Thanks. Will try this out. Since I have an Android device, need to find the 56.5mm charger, which seems to be a bit difficult. Do. the slots on the side expand? Maybe I can fit a slightly larger one still? 57 or 58mm?

Sorry, one more question. What kind of TPU do you think is best for this print?

I could only upload one profile at the time. I print the head with PLA using mostly stock settings
