Description

This is a remix of BL LED Case with 24v Power Tap by @mfetting. I added a rocker switch cut out for 2 different sized switch. Each switch size has 3 different switch locations, two on the back (horizontal/vertical) and one on the top. I also added dual color options.

(Description copied from original post and edited)

Works with Bambu Lab X1, X1C, and P1P printers.

Uses two (2) Bambu Bus Cables.

Items Needed to Construct the BL LED with 24v Power Tap:

  • BL LED for sale at dutchdeveloper (Etsy Store)
  • Power Tap Kit and extra Bambu Bus Cable for sale at 3DMachinist (Etsy Store). Order the V1.3 version of the Power Tap.
  • Switch options: (note: both switch options state they are 15mm x 10mm, but the base of the switches vary)

Installation:

  • Insert the switch into the case (it will require a bit of force).
  • Connect the negative wire (black) from the 24v tap to the negative on the BL LED Controller.
  • Solder the positive wire (red) from the 24v tap to middle lead on the switch. Solder another wire to the other lead on the switch and connect it to the BL LED Controller.
  • Snap in the back cover to protect the BL LED Controller from shorting out on the metal printer case.
  • Install on the back of the printer using the top two center screws using:
    • 1x M3x22mm screw
    • 1x M2.5x22mm screw (this one doesn't grab for me, personally but it still helps hold it in place)

Important Note:

Make sure to shut off the switch before connecting the BL LED Controller to a computer! If you don't, it will back feed power to the printer causing the head to light up (at minimum, not sure what else could happen). I'm not responsible for any miswiring or possible damage to your printer if anything goes wrong with this mod.

I appreciate the positive rating despite the switch not fitting, thank you. There are 2 print profiles that fit 2 different switches. What size is your switch? I can cut out a new size for you if you'd like.
