Description

This grill system goes with a skinny, easy-to-remove, dry box (Without removing the spools or anything).

Here is the link to my desiccant boxes. A couple more can fit there. They are less pleasant than mine (I did try them, too, and they fell apart, making a mess in one of my AMS).

https://makerworld.com/en/models/69484#profileId-73827

The grill is just there to fill the space and maintain a "humid air" gap around the desiccant box. Also, in one of them, I added a Hygrometer. It makes things nice and tight.

To me, It looks better than having an oversized, fat-looking dry box. I did print a few sets of oversize ones. What I hated the most was removing the spool and the AMS smooth feeding setup I have in there. Every time, every week. It's just disfontional.

I had to refresh the desiccant once or twice a week, and it was just a pain. Now, I replace them in a minute.

This is my elegant solution. No pain is required.

It would be best to slide those grills first, then the desiccant box. No need to remove anything.

As you can see, the model is just a solid block, and the hex size can be changed in the slicer. I like it at 12%. It could be any infill or %, too. Make it yours, and add your name if you'd like.

One thing about the 22mm side ones. There's a Right and a left (On top, I put RH and LH). It could be reversed, but the "outside walls" have a 0.5-degree angle, and it will look funny. You are probably the only one that will notice it. I did…

Go print and have fun.

PS: see my other stuff. I have a lot of solutions and cures for a bit of printing pain.

well, I went for a gyroid infill and I’m not disappointed hehe. Wonderful design, easy to insert and remove, as it should be. And having the freedom to use PLA and any color I want for this front part is a great idea. Thank you 😊

Wow, fantastic color. Did you use the same 12% infill? I think I'm going to change mine for gyroid, but I may turn it to 45 degrees. That looks really good. Thanks for the review and mostly downloading it.

Hi! Sorry, I didn't read your comment before! Yes, I think I used the same 12%, I don't remember for sure. While I love honeycomb patterns too I thought it would look amazing with giroid hehe. And because they're separated pieces I can choose the best of both worlds: PETG for the container and PLA (this is Polyterra orange from Polymaker) for the decoration :). I'm still loving it, thank you again for designing it :)

Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it. I have a new set of Hygrometers that are a bit tighter. I'll look at it today and see if I should add a few 10/1000. It has to hold some but not too tight. The insertion force shouldn't pass 5kg. Make sure it's not an elephant foot effect or over-extruded. The opening should be 25.8 x 45mm +/-0.10. It's wanted to be tight on the Z axe but not on the X axe. You could warm up a bit the frame (like 80c) before the insertion.

well, it is in, I did not have to force it in, it was just tight. maybe I need to look I to the flow calibration on textured pei it is said to be possibly inaccurate.

Yep, that would pay trick on you. I often use the Texture build plate and ignore the warning. Also, using Prusament could mess up the expected flow and ideal temperatures. Enjoy-it ;-) It looks fantastic in Green.

Another amazing upgrade from luckyluc.64! Easy to print, fits perfect, hygrometer fits perfect, I might have it in upside down, not sure, but it works and looks nice! I like the gyroid look better than honeycomb so I changed it to that using the same infill %.

Thanks YellowDog, you are the best. I can't tell if they are upside down and can work both way. The large foot should be the bottom side. I will not tell anybody if you have it upside-down. Cool material, I like the Gyroid. You did a good job printing-it. Thanks for the review.

Great design and nice accompaniment to your slim desiccant boxes which I also printed along with these. I decided to use the free spool of green provided with the printer, print profile was spot on no issues printing. Thanks for sharing.

To me, it's perfect. I just refreshed the desiccant box, and it's like in-out and done. The Grill with the hydrometer is better than having it in the desiccant box. It read the AMS, not the box inside it. It's nice to be recognized by a maker. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it.

Thanks Luc. Bulit both the dessicant boxes and the grills for both AMSs. They look great and work even better.

Yes, I will take a #3 and #5 to go, please. Oh, add an apple crisp with it. XD. I like your high-contrast concept. It's cool. Did you angle the red infield by accident? I first added the big desiccant box and realized they were totally dysfunctional. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it. You may look at other solutions I have for BBL's little corks.

That is excellent. Good job printing it. Are you installing it with the honey grill? Not only does it look good, but it keeps things in place, and you can add a hygrometer. Here is the link. https://makerworld.com/en/models/75266#profileId-79768 Thanks again.

I thought that was the profile for the honey grill 😜 yeah, my second AMS is completely luckyluc.64 optimized, grill, desiccant boxes, AMS saver. Big fan here 😊

Thanks, being appreciated by the makers is very special to me. It is simple and efficient but not that popular. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it.
