I wanted to create a wall clock in the design form of George Nelson - and to better learn CAD tools. I created this design in a day or so and printed it on a Bambu X1C.
The clock face is 200mm in diameter, the spheres are 30mm and 20mm in Copper and Navy Blue respectively. I love the way the copper silk and navy blue PLA work together.
The clock face is configured to paint in your slicer (I used Orcaslicer) and I have included “rods” if you want to print them.
I used Bambu Labs White and Copper Silk PLA, and IIIDMax navy blue PLA for the hour dots and spheres and a clock mechanism and hands from Amazon. Make sure to get the 20mm version as the clock face is 15mm thick, not including the hour marks which are 3mm. The set comes with a number of hands and I used the red. In the future I will add printed hour and minute hands to use.
When printing the balls, to avoid the need for supports, I dragged them about 4-5mm below the plane, providing them a flat surface, alternatively, print with supports.
This is my first from scratch model, if you print it please like and post a make - I would love to see other's takes on this classic – if there are issues, please let me know and I will try and fix
