I very much liked the riser design of Marwyn. I wanted some changes though. For instance, I wanted to use a 10mm LED strip instead of the LED ramps Marwyn designed. I also wanted to avoid soldering the strips when installing them. So I created this remix. Hope you like it :)
Here's what I have changed:
- Raised the upper surface (on which the glass rests) and the rim 2mm from the already raised frame of Marwyns model
- Changed the champfer on the inside above the vents from 55 to 45° and changed it's width to 10.5mm to accomodate for a 10mm LED-strip
- Created cavities in the corners to avoid having to solder the LED strips there. Simply stuff the excess strip in there
- Changed the holes on the inner flanges to accept M3 heat set inserts
- Created slots on the vents to accept TPU gaskets for a better seal when closed
- Created said gaskets for the vents
- Split covers and handles to be able to have the front surface of the covers printed on the bed for a nicer surface. The handles accept M2 heat set inserts and skrew on to the covers
- Recreated the 3mm top lid gasket featuring a shade to shield your eyes from the bright LEDs when looking through the top glass.
BOM:
- 12 M3x8mm Cylinderhead skrew
- 12 M3 heat set insert
- 12 M2x4mm or M2x8mm Cylinderhead skrew
- 12 M2 heat set insert
- 48 5x3mm round neodym magnets
- 10mm LED strip
I printed mine in Spectrum ASA-X CF10 for the frame and 3DJake ASA for covers and handles.
Have fun!
