Did you know that hermit crabs need to fully submerge their shells in order to stay properly hydrated?
Well I didn't! That is, until a friend of mine asked me to design and print some hermit crab pools for her little buddies (Flounder and Sebastian). Hermit crabs up to 4 inches should be able to completely submerge themselves in the pool to clean/bathe. The sides are designed to be climbable as they can use their little claws to climb the tank and jump in AND a ramp to provide an easy way for the hermit crabs to get out. Fun bubble design on the one side adds a bit of flair to your tank.
I was almost able to get a water tight seal on these with the settings down below but it took a few tries to find the right settings for the specific PETG I was using (eSun). Your mileage may vary and it will likely depend on the brand of PETG used.
100% print-in-place, shouldn't need any special settings or orientation to make it work. The grooves on the side that act as a step-ladder are chamfered at the bottom to allow easy PiP.
Happy printing!
