Description

Here is my version of the Astrolabe that is featured in the opening credits of Game of Thrones. Not quite as detailed as the movie version but looks impressive and spins on all axis.

This Version Features a Dragon at the base but if there is enough interest i can upload the version with 4 Animals (Lion, Stag, Dire Wolf and Dragon)

Assembly is easy with no need for additional hardware or glue, it simply slots and screws together.

See assembly video below.

cool looking, the rings could have been slightly tighter but the silk pla is weaker

Thank you and great color choice, looks amazing. it took many attempt and hours to get them to this stage while making it an easy print without additional hardware. it’s more of a decorative piece and not really designed to be spun around tbh. I am working on a new improved version that requires bearings that will spin more smoothly and not fall apart.

Printed really well with Ziro metallic 'copper' PLA (more bronze colour really). For some reason my A1 ironed the top of the base into a weird pattern, but it looks cool anyway.

Had some fun with filament settings between prints due to warping but the print profile was spot on either way, now has pride of place in the living room.

I used the Copper silk PLA from Bambu that came with my P1S, one problem I am having is the rings don't like to stay together and keep falling out, not sure of the cause but I might revisit it and see if I can resolve it in settings :)

what a fun build this was! looks absolutely amazing. my tolerances are off just a bit and it does not want to stay together very well. Going to reprint the upper section in a better filament.

thank you I’m glad you like it. There’s actually no tolerance at all, it’s the weight of the filament forcing it apart. I’m guessing ABS would fix it but I have none to try.

Danke für das tolle Modell. Hatte zwar nur das Dualcolor Filament übrig aber passt schon :) Thanks for the great model. I only had the Dualcolor filament left but it looks fine :)
