After making mess after mess using a standard funnel, I decided enough is enough and made one that screws on the Dry & Dry bottle! No more funnel mishaps ruining all the silica pouring fun! Simply screw on this funnel and enjoy a controlled pouring experience! No more spilling gel pellets all over the place endangering children and pets.

NOTE:

 

  1. This was designed and tested on the Dry & Dry 1 Quart (2lbs.) bottle.
  2. Depending on how dialed in your printer is with your filament you may need to clean up some overhang stringing on the threads.

Correct. As mentioned in the description, this is designed to fit the 1 Quart bottle. However, I purchased a 1 Gallon bottle that will arrive tomorrow. I'll then make one to fit it and will upload it. Click 'Follow' to make sure you get the update once posted.

Is your model by any chance parametric? I have desiccant bottles from Absorbking that have slightly wider openings than this print. I found that out when I printed it and tried to put it on, but it didn't fit which I knew it was a long shot. Ideally, I would like to keep the same size pour spout and exit hole on your design with just a wider opening at the base, but the design is so close in size that a uniform scale up probably wouldn't be bad. The measurement of the opening on the 6.5 lb bottle of Absorbking desiccant is 36.5mm before the threads as best as I can tell. Without having the bottle you have I wouldn't be able to model the threads. Getting the threads correct on these and other bottles is always a trial and error process for me (read, design, print, test, repeat and repeat and repeat). If you have the modeling chops, you could model and adapter that would fit your bottle threads and then match the threads on my funnels. Just a thought. If I ever need 6.5lbs. of desiccant, I'll get this one and model new versions to fit it.

I went through a couple of sizing changes (picture from right to left) to get your design to fit. Using BL's slicer I bumped up the X & Y axis to 44.00mm, leaving Z at 61.67mm. I didn't mess with the Z as I didn't want to mess up the bottle threading by stretching it up/apart more. The one on the right is clear PETG and the other two are BL white matte PLA. I think the resize is causing an issue because both filament types are having really weird stringing at the start of the funnel. Any ideas?

I forgot to mention that with the X & Y axis at 44.00mm, the threaded part fits on the Absorbking 6.5lbs bottle perfectly. I just need to figure out the stringing part so I can print the rest of your design as a single piece. The bit that looks like stringing happens right where the threading ends and the funnel starts, no where else in the print, so I don't think it's a drying issue. I have no experience with CAD software, but if you increase the X & Y axis of your current design, and leave Z alone, you have what is needed to figure out the measurements of the threaded part for the Absorbking 6.5lbs bottle. I hope that all made sense.
