Description

The best PTFE guide plus PTFE Release (no tools requier)

There it is. Many Makers asked me for this after seeing the one I designed for the AMS Hub.

Since the location is all right, I didn't add a subplate and relocate the buffer. The drawback is that I only have a little wire management.

 

In a certain way, it's better because there are no holes to tap or screws. It just "Smap in place".

It's also easy to assemble;

-Release the two PTFEs from the buffer.

-Snap the central part on top of the AMS Buffer. (See the pictures above) (injector end first and snap the other end)

-Slide in the two PTFE guides and secure them with the "C" ring. (The longer one goes in the Injector side)

-Push in the two PTFEs. Tug back to see if they lock in place.

It's ready to go. Enjoy not having other tools and no jam due to the realignment of the PTFE in the fittings.

It's not a bad idea to chamfer the inside of the PTFE after cutting it.

 

After printing, make sure the holes are clean. The guide should slide easily and freely into their mount. It may require a little filling in the bores.

 

I did test it with PLA. And the small tube broke. Then, No, you can't use PLA.

I print it with PETg for the one that has an open machine. It works well, and no support is needed. I didn't have to file or sand the bore, but it may be required. The injector side guide must slide freely, and the PTFE should slide into the guide freely. It doesn't matter if the PTFE slides into the guide or the guide slides with the PTFE.

Of course, I did make it in ABS. It's the best for me and it's my favorite BBL Blue ABS.

 

It prints in an hour and haft in PETg and even faster with the ABS.

Goody Goody, here we go... It's my second long-time favorite (after ABS). It was a pain to use on my Raise3D, but BBL made it easy. I have to give a shot to your profile. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it.

Oh, one thing. Your profile cut the integrated support on the tubes. You are missing one little thing in your set-up. I'll have to figure out why it doesn't print the wall under .50mm but still prints the tube... If you figure this out, please let me know and update your profile. That support is essential to ensure a successful print. Thanks

Ah, I now see that too. If I use your original ABS-profile and the X1-printer this support-cones go up until it intersect the tubes. When I switch to my printer-profile (P1S) and my filament profile (Generic ASA) the cones stop earlier... I don't know why. I use Orca as slicer. But non the less I didn't had issues printing it with that error.

It works very well, organizes the ducts and makes the back of the machine neater. I printed on ABS, the longest tube broke on me because I didn't handle it carefully, you don't have to exert any bending on the install. Highly recommended, thanks to the creator!

Wow, that is a fantastic review. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it. Coming from a maker makes it so much more to me. I see a little oozing. You may need to dry your filament a little more. (better finish and no stringing) Good job printing it, and thanks again.

You did an excellent job printing-it. it look fantastic. You can remove the cone on the tip, it's support material integrated to the part. If you pinch them they will pops out. That looks stunning. What material is that? Good job printing it! You know the cone can be removed; it to supports the print. Thanks, and keep having fun printing trouble-free. PS: Look at my other solutions for the annoying little issues of the X/P series.

it’s silk PLA. I didn’t install the injector side because I found I didn’t need it, and I broke it trying to install it. I saw the model, new I needed it for the AMS side and printed it before I read it should not be PLA. I may go back and print the injector side later with some PAHT-CF I have to make sure it’s strong enough. I would like to have that printed for ease of removing the PTFE tube later.

Hi Downhill Solutions, Did you use ABS? PETg could be better. There's not much room there. I see ringing in your print; you may want to calibrate your machine; it will improve the finish. Is this a P1S? It looks good in black. Thanks for downloading it and giving feedback. I do appreciate it.

It could be a few things. Maybe the speed. PETg like-it slow. The glassy finish may amplify the effect. You did an excellent job printing it.

Everything is ASA. I assembled the red pieces as a single object in the Bambu slicer and printed by object. AMS only had to do one filament change.

printed great in ASA except for the tall part. the last part does nit fit the ptfe tube and breaks. any idea on how to resolve this?

Hey Simply 3D Prints, ASA have a verry little tolerances for the extruder temperature. 2 degree is enough to change the flow characteristic. It's the main reason why I use ABS over-it. Do a flow test and make sure you don't have a flow issue and the fans may cool the parts too fast. Also make sure the PTFE is not too fat. It should slide easily. It is a fragile piece but should not break that easy. That tube can be glue on the outside. Maybe try to print it in PETg or ABS.

Hello everyone mine shows a small step au bottom side when installed. Can currently not tell if it would interfere. Anyone with same issue?

It looks like a bit of oozing. Use a little file, sandpaper or s exacto to cut it off, and it should work like a charm. Overall it looks good. Good job printing it! Thanks, and keep having fun printing trouble-free. PS: Look at my other solutions for the annoying little issues of the X/P series.

I sanded everything sliding and in contact with sliding a little bit. Applied some Dry PTFE (for sure overkill - but made me feel good :-D ). Now it's working great. Thank you for that superb model!
