An annoying gift card lock box, perfect for gifting store cards, vouchers, cash, Keys or anything else you can fit inside!
Probably the fastest printable lock box on Makerworld!
Features:
Prints in under 2 hours (2 colour)
14 cross head screws secure the box shut.
Screw driver hidden within the ribbon strips
No additional parts are needed for assembly.
Print in place hinged design
Satisfying to open and close
A fun way of giving the ‘annoying’ person in your life, more than just a generic gift card.
Perfect for Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas or any other occasion that involves giving gifts :)
The Box, Lid and Ribbon Strips are interchangeable with my ‘Fun Version’ (See my profile)
Assembly/usage:
After printing all parts-
Insert your gift of choice into the smaller half of the box.
Close the box
Assemble the ribbon strips in the cross pattern
Poke the cross head screw driver through both holes in the ribbon strips and hold in place with your finger
Offer up the ribbon strips to the lid of the box and locate the screw driver into the threaded hole
Tighten the screw driver with the tips of your fingers until the ribbon strips are snug
Use the second screw driver to insert all 14 screws around the outside of the box making sure they're done up snugly.
The box is now impenetrable without the cross head screw driver! - The ‘victim’ has to find and unscrew this from the ribbon strips before being able to open the box….mwahaha
Extra Info:
The print profile for the A1 mini has the main box separated into 2 parts. This doesn't affect anything and the two parts can simply be pushed together at the hinge, after printing. This should be very obvious when you have the parts in your hands.
Please post your makes and rate your experience :) It's very much appreciated :P
All Parts, 2 Plates, 0.16mm layer, 2 walls, 10% infill
Very nice Print. One tip Prior to assembly I used my metric tap set for the small hole on top 6mm and Large side holes 10mm. Went together quickly and tight without damage to printed parts. Awesome design. Enjoyed making this and probably more watching my Adult Son figuring out how to open it! ;)
nice print but could not get the top screw in place. printed on qidi max 3. thought I was going to break it on the first fold it was really tight worked good in the end. except the top hole. guess I’ll buy some dies and try what another user did.
Printed these to add a little something to Gift Cards for Christmas Gifts. They came out great and the people I gave them to loved them. I did have an issue using the print profile provided... My P1S kept giving me an error that was about a faulty SD Card, after changing the SD Card, I got the same error. Printing other items worked fine, so I just downloaded the Raw STL files and matched the settings that the designer listed.
