Description

A few years ago I made this as a rendering for my kitchen backsplash. At some point I thought, why not print it out and put it on a shelf?

It's a tribute to the legendary photo from the New York Times "Lunch atop a skyscraper" and of course Star Wars. Now what has always belonged together comes together ...

If you don't want to waste so much material or have problems while printing, try cutting the model exactly in the middle of the support surface, like here (or use the halfcut profile):

This makes it an pretty easy print (use tree support!) I glued the legs and the surface with plastic glue, it holds perfect and the result looks quite good.

it would be cool if you made the design two colour so we don't have to paint them but just print the parts black/white

Whats stopping you from doing that in the slicer? You can paint what you want colored and then use the AMS

I was wanting a 2 color version also, and while yes I can do it myself in the slicer, and am new to this Makerworld stuff and do not see where it let's you edit the model before printing. I assume if it was set to 2 color you can just point the print to the White and Black AMS slots and hit print? I new new to using Makerworld and am used to the download .stl of old.

what's stopping you from uploading a painted 3MF file?

I recommend using the 3mf files for the multicolor and condensing it to all one plate to save a bunch filament from color swaps, make sure to not purge to infill and add a prime tower for the small details. add an extra wall loop to help hide the interior black parts. Prints great!

can you upload your settings?

So sorry! I no longer have the file. but I assure you that it's no more complicated than moving the objects to one plate, making it fit, changing a couple options in wall loops and enabling prime tower, then changing the blue and red object filaments to black when printing it.

Just curious, what are your temp settings? From the photos they look pretty high. The material has that melted frosting/icing look to me rather than clearly defined layer lines. Even at .20 or lower you can see some layer lines. Yours seem to "melt" together. Temps too high maybe?

Printed great, had to reprint 1 or 2 models due to tree supports not working right and painted the model after.

Painted All-On-One-Plate
Nice one, my longest multicolorprint on my P1s, it failed for me in the end (my mistake) but was able to reslice the file from the error (ish) and glue the top of the heads on. I also made a beam for them to sit on so I could mount it to the wall.
