Description

If you want to hide cable wiring within a sheetrock wall for wall mounted televisions, this is a great design to use.

I reversed engineered a remodel electrical box so that I can run HDMI and power cables through the wall with a clean and hidden installation. The Cable Passthrough has 2" round adapter that fits within a 2" flexible Wet/Vac hose. Print two Cable Passthrough Boxes and add (4) #6x1" Pan Head Wood Screws to the flaps. After cutting the openings in the sheetrock, you simply feed the 2" Hose through the wall between the two cutouts. The cable box adapter will fit snugly into the hose on both ends and then you can secure the box to the sheetrock by screwing the flap screws. After both the cable passthrough boxes are secured you can run your cables through the wall.

The design for the cable passthrough box will fit a rectangle switch plate cover after it is installed in the wall for a clean appearance.

This is my first design from scratch using ACAD 2022, saving it as a .DXF and exporting it from Fusion 360 to a .3MF file. Let me know if you have any questions about this design.

I bought the hose at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/WORKSHOP-Wet-Dry-Accessories-WS25022A/dp/B019C23JIQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=YY9DMY1Q713S&keywords=2%22%2Bwet%2Fvac%2Bhose&qid=1701653713&sprefix=2%2Bwet%2Fvac%2Bhose%2Caps%2C106&sr=8-1&th=1
