Description

A Thanksgiving themed “no politics at the dinner table” sign. The icons are specific to US political parties.

Is there an angry uncle who always sours the holiday cheer by ranting about the person in office? Tap the sign.

Grandma starts a sentence with “this country was doing just fine, until…”? Tap the sign, quickly.

Bart brings his pet elephant, Stampy? Tap the sign.

The original size is 510 x 210 x 8mm. If you scale X and Y by 50%, it fits perfectly on the 256x256 bed of the P and X series printers. Z could also be scaled, but doesn’t need to be.

The uploaded profile uses the 0.20mm Standard profile with these changes:

Quality – Ironing Type: All Top Surfaces

Strength – Top Shell Layers: 4

Others – Flush into objects’ infill: checked

All these changes are completely optional. I printed originally with 3 top shell layers, but dislike being able to (slightly) see the infill pattern on the white background.
I also rotated it 90 degrees and moved it to the right side. Printing left-to-right puts the left edge very close to the cooling fan and may cause a bit of lift.
Only tested on a P1S with standard PLA filament.

The profile is the solid version, but there are additional STLs with 1 and 2 holes at the top for hanging.

There’s also a small Sign Stand STL that holds this upright at about 10 degrees off vertical.

If you slice it yourself using the STL file, I recommend making black the first color, then painting the background white, then the Yes/No symbols. The turkey has a lot of edges that would be tedious to paint black. Leaving the border black might look a bit better, but painting the bottom 3mm white makes a solid white base, saving a lot of filament swaps.
