Description

Used to mount Polymaker filaments onto Bambu's original spool,to avoid jams in AMS. Other brands of cardboard spool should work but are untested.

Installation is very simple. Please follow the process below:

1 Open Bambu filament spool holder.

2 Rip the baffle off the side of the spool, taking care not to let the filament come loose.

3 Insert the adaper and half of the Bambu original spool into the centre of the Polymaker's spool. Note that there are several notches that need to be aligned.

4 Carefully flip the combo over and tear off the other half of the barrier.

5 Insert the adapter into the slit in the paper tube.

6 Installing the other half of the spool.

Then you are done.

Update: Inner rolls of Polymaker spool is vary considerably in different series. So in V3, the adapter isn't a circle and it's chipped, which can be slightly distorted to adapt to different internal diameters. And there is a new strapping and indicator, it can limit the filament a little when installing, and indicate how many filament left like the original spool, each dot means 200g on ABS, each dash means 200g on PLA/PETG.

It is worth mentioning that if you happen to have original Bambu filament of the same material and colour, you can keep the original RFID and insert it into the middle of the paper tube before assembling the tray, so that the AMS will be able to automatically identify the colour and material of the filaments, and the leftover of filament on the screen will be refreshed if the previous filament were used up normally.

My favorite filament comes on a cardboard roll and this works perfectly with it.
