Description

This is a model of the statue of liberty using the helmet and weapons of the witch king from the Lord of Rings. Was just a cool idea I had. It turned out pretty well. I designed it in Blender.

The stl file is a little smaller than what is found in the 3mf file as I made it a little bigger to make it easier to print within Bambu Studio. It did end up printing pretty fairly decent. But have to be very careful removing the supports on the helmet and they can break easy. Otherwise enjoy and thanks for checking it out.

I have uploaded two different stl files and print profiles. The one labeled v3 is the most recent and includes some modifications to the helmet I did in order to try to get it to print nicer. Enjoy!

I love it, thanks for the cool creation! I was looking for something to print and when I realized the Bambu blue/green silk was already in the AMS.. it was just meant to be. I did make some changes from your profile just for fun, like adding a hilbert curve top surface to the base. I also used AUTO organic tree supports for everything since silk can be so delicate. Some other experimental choices were: 0.2 layer height because why not try, a 0.35 contour compensation to thicken it up and give the silk a better chance at life and then really slowed the speed just from the crown to the tip of the sword. When removing supports, the only thing I lost was a bit connecting the chain at the handle- but it was an easy fix with a lighter to both ends and holding them back in place. I did notice the funky holes in his mask but really, it just looks battle worn or something! Still super cool and I was happy with the result! It's sadly a little too tall to replace our tiny, broken Gandalf as our AMS Guardian but it will find a good home somewhere else.

@TheKirklands Thanks for checking it out! I put quite a bit of time into this to make it work, glad you enjoyed the design. I would say that your model definitely turned out better than what I printed. But I am new to this hobby. So use my 3mf files at your own discretion. But I did upload a second version (called v3) that had some tweaks to the mask, not sure if that would also fix the weird hole you got in your mask (if v2 is the one you printed). In any case, thanks and enjoy!

I could tell you made a thoughtful print profile and I appreciate that! I definitely applaud your creation of the model as I have no idea how to do that stuff. I would have used your profile without changes if I hadn't wanted to use silk filament. I have been experimenting with printing DND minis lately and wanted to try out some things that I found helped when using silk for those. I have no problems with the holes in the mask, don't worry about it :). I look forward to more of your creations.

I noticed a weird issue with the model when it comes to the helmet. I am updating the model to help with a more uniform print. It should help produce a better print. A second print profile has been added. Model was simplified as well in the 3mf file to help with printing. Please see the stl files if you want the high quality version of the the model. Thanks.
