Description

Mostly just playing around with print settings and style from this idea, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6533879 for clever use of Lenticular Lensing.

Made it print without supports so that it can stand on its own vertical or sideways.

Got a bit loose with the layer print peramaters - printed at 0.4mm layers and 0.8mm line width on a 0.4mm nozzle on purpose, to let the sides of the print layers work as curved optical surfaces. Pictures show the clarity of the print with the single line 0.8mm wide.

Print slow - 20mm/s.

Make sure your filament is dry.

Really want this to work, please help, printed on BL X1C, used your settings, except 0.2mm layer height hoping for more clarity. Not sure why.. but each try, one without supports (accidentally done) and one with, both come out a bit deformed with large airpocket in center.. any idea what im doing wrong, seems to be two layers with air sealed in center..

Hey, it should be one 0.8mm wide pass per layer through the middle, maybe BLStudio swapped it back to 0.4mm on you or something. I went to 0.4mm trying to get better clarity too. See my little diagram of what I was trying to get by using a 0.4mm high and 0.8mm wide extrusions, bigger, smoother lense-shaped side walls. I didn't use supports, 20mm/s, part & aux fan on 60-70%(that's why i have it positioned on the bed in front of the aux fan)

Oh! I had a thought when I woke up this morning. You scaled it up, I think, and that made the screen too thick to do in one pass per layer. If you want to scale, maybe try it in the X & Z axes only, and leave the Y where it is, to keep the 0.8mm width.

I can't see why not. Might even work better.
