Description

This is a modification to the awesome Days of the Week pill dispenser/organizer from emmaginn.

Larger pills kept getting stuck on the side ledges at the bottom of the pill collector. As I was thinking through how to fix this, I also had a concern that if I covered the initial side ledges that I would run into the same issue with the pill plunger having an even smaller opening. So I created these shims, for lack of a better word, to hang over both sets of ledges to ensure the pills would drop down every time, and they do.

Video of the difference can be found here (MakerWorld won't let me imbed it for some reason): https://youtube.com/shorts/z20qYbOV3-o

You will need 7 sets for the 7 slots, and I recommend printing them flat side down on the smoothest build pate you have. I used a hologram plate and they came out smooth as glass on that side. I sized them at 99% to provide a little tolerance and still be snugly inserted. I chose this versus making them smaller and gluing them into place because the idea of having 3D Gloop 1/8" away from my pills didn't seem right (no offense 3D Gloop - you all make awesome stuff). So you may need to adjust the size to get the snug fit.

I dropped my straight down alongside the appropriate wall, and then used my fingers to push them down into place (a few took a little coaxing, but again this is good as you don't want them to fall out), and then I pushed them against the side wall until I was sure there was no room left.

I hope these help others who have struggled with their pills getting stuck. I'm going to create a main body with the shims integrated so separate pieces are only needed if the original body was printed.
