Looking for a compact solution to carry a compact palettes to your next painting meet-up?
This listing includes the the drybrush, well, and flat palette modules. They can be used as standalone palettes or stored in the brush storage box (without brushes). Brush storage box is shown for reference in the photos but is not included in this listing. It can be purchased from my MMF store.
The palette footprints are the same size, so you can mix and match to get the palette collection that best suits your needs. I printed mine in blue, so to better see the paint in the well palette I have since primed that part in flat white primer.
Once placed in the brush storage box, they can be integrated into any number of my other modules to create a custom travel hobby solution!
I've designed this modular system for myself to solve the problem of either having to carry my full collection in a large case, or loosely (and unsecured) in something like a tote bag. All modules are stackable and include recesses to glue in 8mm diameter x 3mm thick magnets top further secure them into a single portable kit. Combine this module with any number of my other modules for infinite combinations!
Print in FDM at 0.12mm layer height. I've found the best results are from painting them on their sides, otherwise you get harsher layer lines in the bottoms of the well palette and flatter areas of the drybrush palette.
You'll need supports for the corners, but I recommend tweaking the support angle to near horizontal because the rest of the palettes are designed to not require supports if printed at a higher resolution like 0.12mm. If your slicer allows for manual support placement that should work too.
Be sure to use a large brim and a freshly cleaned build plate! I use a Bambu A1 and the textured PEI sheet at 50c to minimize warping.
I printed mine in PLA with 0.8mm walls and 10% infill.
