Description

I couldn't find any reasonably-priced replacement cards for Catan, so I created my own.

They are standard American size (54x80mm).

These models have been specifically designed for 0.4mm nozzles. Any scaling of the models or use of a different size nozzle can result in subpar results, though I suspect a 0.2mm nozzle would work very well.

My print profile has multiple plates to choose from. DO NOT PRINT THEM ALL! The plates with single cards are essentially just for testing.

You need 19 of each resource card. I have prepared a plate for each resource with 10 of that resource card on it. This means that you can print each of these plates twice and have an extra card for each resource. I found this useful, as usually one of the cards didn't come out perfectly so I could keep the imperfect one aside as a spare.

For the development cards:

You need 14 knights. I have added a plate with 7 knights on it that can be printed twice to accommodate this quantity.

You need two of each “actionable” dev card (road building, YOP, mono) and 5 victory points. I put each of these on their own plate so the colors can be customized. However, if you want to follow my color scheme (or something similar), I have combined all of these cards into one plate with 11 cards on it for ease of printing.

The colors I used:

Jayo Black PLA+

Jayo White PLA+

Bambu Lemon Yellow Matte PLA

Bambu Mandarin Orange Matte PLA

Eryone Matte Lilac PLA

Bambu Grass Green Matte PLA

Bambu Red PLA Basic

Bambu Latte Brown Matte PLA

Bambu Gray PLA Basic

I would recommend using as much matte filament as possible, since it is less transmissible than standard PLA.

I added building cost cards as a separate profile because the first layer has to be printed incredibly slowly due to the high detail.

Nice, yours came out really nicely. Smart to make the dev cards a different colour as well.

yeah.. also made the Building Cost card a different color as well — a Matte Dark Blue from Geeetech. once I decide what my player colors will be, I will remake them as those colors to match.

Thanks! Your print turned out great. I have no plans to produce any additional sets of cards, just the base set.

Possibly. It's tough though since the smaller details can be difficult to pull off. I had a version of these with text on the dev cards but it just didn't look very good. The line art turned out really well at the scale of these cards, but I'm a bit concerned about the details and printability of smaller scale versions to fit all the costs on a single card. Maybe I can split it into 2 cards, or maybe it'll just require a 0.2mm nozzle. I'll try to get to it this weekend and see how it turns out.

I added a profile for the building cost card, since it turned out okay. Needs to be printed really slow on the first layer though. I made the building cost cards the same size as the others so that they can be stored away with the regular cards. You can try scaling it up if you want, but no guarantees that it prints cleanly. Increments of 50% is probably best.
