Description

As one of the classic structures typical for our environment, I perceive these fortifications, which now carry a historical character. The model features a detachable roof and can accommodate figurines for further play. The model includes only the bunker itself with a base.

History:

The Light Fortification Model 37 (historically known as the new type of light fortification, colloquially referred to as "Řopík") is a reinforced concrete stronghold of light fortification constructed as part of the construction of the Czechoslovak fortification. The popular term "Řopík" originated in the second half of the 1930s based on the abbreviation ŘOP (Directorate of Fortification Works). The Directorate managed the construction and contracted external construction companies.

In the 1930s, due to the changed political situation in neighboring Germany, the then Czechoslovak government deliberated on the method of potential defense of the republic. As part of a major army modernization effort, the construction of permanent border fortifications was initiated. Facilities with a garrison strength of several men were organizationally included in the so-called light fortification. Initially, the Light Fortification Model 36 was built, but its construction was subsequently halted and replaced by the more sophisticated Light Fortification Model 37.
