Description

This is currently still a work in progress, but in its current form is very useable! It requires no supports and the mechanism for holding utensils is intuitive. I recommend printing this out of ABS, but I've included a PLA profile as well just in case.

This tool is helpful for those with weakened or compromised grip strength. It allows for the usage of eating utensils without grasping or curling fingers. I did not have any alternative solutions for the method of locking utensils in place, so if you have any ideas please feel free to let me know for the next iteration. I wanted this tool to be completely printable in the simplest manner.

Other examples of this tool can be found here:

I’ve added a .step file in case you would like to edit it to post as a remix.

***I have added a curve on the side closest to the hand for more comfortability and also a lever attached to the screw head that makes turning a lot easier.

I printed this for a friend and it’s been amazing. Loved it so much we pass them out at therapy for patient with mobility issues. I love this, we need more Adaptive tools.
