Description

This fixture snaps onto the Bambu A1 Print Head and allows you to mount a 1" travel dial indicator. With this device you can easily indicate the 4 corners of your build plate to within .002" or .05mm. For reference I have adjusted the build plate out of parallel by as much as .050 and the Bambu A1 can still produce a perfect .2mm first layer. Please note this adjustment has nothing to do with “Level” Level is not anything of concern, what is of concern is that the build plate is as parallel as possible with the X and Y axis and this device guarantees that goal. This accepts a standard 1" dial indicator with a 3/8 stem to hold it, typically they run $15. - $25. Haas automation has a great one for $14.00 Here is a link to a video of this unit in action:

Great design. Could you provide a version with an 8 mm mount? Would be super nice.

8 mm hole fits very well. Unfortunately the pin from my dial gauge is too short and the A1 mini x axis is also to short to measure the whole bed :-( But thank you very much :-)

thanks for this! just learning about tramming and why so this helps a lot. I'm in Canada so that dial isn't available here but any dial that measures to an inch will do? Amazon has some digital ones

I prefer analog for this type of measurement only thing that matters is 3/8 shank, with enough travel to reach the bed without extruder hitting, if too short print an extension for the indicator plunger tip

Worked great snapped right into place, thank you. Started have issues with my A1 first layer this made tramming the bed much easier than eyeballing. Turns out the heater was loose letting the nozzle move around . Thanks for the awesome print !
