Description

UPDATE:
The Flat variants are now located here with all new variants including ones that work as pin badges: https://makerworld.com/en/models/442016#profileId-347881

Watermelons that can be printed with any printer in multiple colors by easy to snap together parts.

All the many variants are in the different .3mf files with plates ready to print

There is a wide array of variation that you can print and you could even use the watermelon generator to make your melon exactly how you like. You can find the generator here: https://tocogames.itch.io/watermelon-generator

The main variants are:

  • 45° spherical cut
  • 90° Slices
  • 60° Slices
  • 45° big spherical cut

Then there are also variants with outlines and different ways to print them split (see instructions pic or video)

Print in full with 4 to 5 colors

OR

Print a separated watermelon like this:

  • Print your red part, this can be multi color with seeds, split into seeds/red or holes for putting filament inside
  • Print the green part, this can be a single green color or a green part that is split in two parts.
  • Finally print the white part (its a variant if the green parts is made up of 2 elements)
(There are also green parts that work without any white part inbetween)
  • Simply snap the parts together (no glue required)

I recommend printing multiple parts of a color at once

There is no support required. For cold plate printing I recommend a good amount of gluestick.

The tiny watermelons also have red parts that come with a keychain hole or a magnet hole (10x2mm magnets)

You could also print keychain rings like these https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5135293

The watermelon is widely known as an symbol of solidarity with palestine. If you are going to a protest they are a great thing to hand out. They are of course also nice to have as something for the kitchen or just to wear on anything you like.

UPDATE:

Slightly improved outlines for the Slices variants

RESPECT to you sir This is an amazing work. I was printing Palestine map coloured with flag colours with key chain and giving them away but people always were asking for water melon key chains. I've an AMS so I might go for the multicolour version so I can mass produce it in less time. I will search for one with hole on the side so I can attach the key chains. Much appreciated

This one I mostly liked but I think this one would require two AMS, right? FULLs SplitGreen

I really like your keychain prints! I also really like the fact that you use actual keychains with them. With the 4 color AMS printing they will take very long to print and you will waste a significant amount of material because of the many filament changes. (your designs work much better with AMS because they are only a few layers) So I would recommend only printing the red parts with AMS, red and black for the seeds. If you still want to print with 4 colors at once you can print the variants that only have a single green color. Printing them separate and putting them together is really quick to do, you can check the video to see that. I myself only printed the big ones in full color which you can see at the end of the video.

Yes when I put them to slicer and saw that filament change was about 270, i said nop... this is not the way :D I really liked the idea of assembly and to be honest when was searching for Palestine, your design always pop up in the search and I never opened it. I thought this looks like lego :D, specially the cover picture, but last time I opened it and was really really really amazed by the work you did. so, one thing I was hesitating a bit from going the assembly part, is two things 1- Amount of work, so far I printed about 1000 flag with key chains and really it is time consuming and I imagine assembling it, will be also a lot of work which I don't mind to be honest for the cause but time is my problem with two kids and full time job so that is why I thought to go with multicolor but yeah I agree with your point, too much time and filament waste. 2- I see with assembly, that there might be some gaps between the parts and wanted to have something like feel one piece. I tried to find in your massive work if there is any like 2d design, not 45 angle like half a melon with couple of seeds but not sure if I missed it or there isn't any, If you have such design, can you tell me which one exactly please, that would make less filament waste and faster print. Once again, thanks really for your support

Hey, thx, I love that you also like to give them away! No need to give credit. But for people interested you could refer them to this page or the youtube video. If you like to give out the key chain trinket versions I usually give those out with printed keyrings on them as well. I print these ones https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5135293

Thanks for the permission I will for sure direct people to your video or this page. That link for the ring is great. I made my own ring when I saw it in your video, but it's a bit flimsy... the one you linked seems much better. Thanks a lot.
