Weed art lithophane: Credit @LithophaneMaker on youtube

A lithophane is a thin plaque of translucent material, normally porcelain (in this case white PLA or ABS), which has been moulded to varying thickness, such that when lit from behind the different thicknesses show as different shades, forming an image. Only when lit from behind does the image display properly.

I have 2 sizes available:
1. 15cmX15cm which has an image thickness of 3mm in all (requires more light but much more durable)
2. 10cmX10cm which has an image thickness of 2mm (will look alot better but less durable)

Its recommended you print the small size (Lithophane with frame + block support 10X10cm.gcode) first to see if your printer has the ability to print these.

READ THE PRINT INSTRUCTIONS if you plan on using an STl file for your own- as this is a very complex print. It will require you to change the resolution on your printer and many other settings. Will not work if NOT printed in a very light colour (white being the best). Any hard material will work PLA, ABS, etc... Maybe even TPU - if your bold enough... and have enough supports.

Print the .gcode files first as they are smaller and have all the necessary settings, they will gage if your printer can print a lithophane. If this print does not work - download the stl files provided and tweak your settings till it does work.

If you cant be bothered reading all these instructions - skip to the GCODE part to expain the easiest print. Requiring little effort on your part.

STL file: DO NOT GENERATE SUPPORTS IN YOUR SLICE - IT WILL DESTROY DETAIL IN THE IMAGE. There is a file that already contains supports. DO NOT GENERATE THEM.
If you want to try add your own supports on the sides of the image i will include a file without them, and a file with no frame surrounding the image - If you want just the lithophane itself. If youre having problems with the right settings - go to the website guide, it will provide the best printer settings for your lithophane.

GCODE - All .gcode files are set with the correct settings you need to instantly print the image - however all settings are for PLA and favour quality over speed, so keep that in mind when printing.
(1.75mm diameter, 210C nozzle, and 50C bed).

Fair warning, the only way to produce a good lithophane is with the slowest settings on your 3D printer - so will take very long to print.
