MINOTS LEDGE LIGHTHOUSE - N (1/160) SCALE MODEL LANDMARK

Minot's Ledge lighthouse is not the tallest or the oldest in Massachusetts but is probably the one that inspired more romances and sparked more imaginations than any other in the state.

Located about a mile offshore near the line between the towns of Cohasett and Scituate, the lighthouse is visible for miles, but only accesible by boat. Stands right on the ledge, part of the dangerous Cohasett rock formation.

The project, led by engineer Joseph G. Totten, was completed and first lit on November 15, 1860. The new structure would be made entirely of granite weighing thousand of tons with iron pins embedded so the lighthouse would be literally pinned to the ledge by its own weight. The model was designed using pictures and detailed drawing of the actual building in scale 1/160 (N scale).

You can resize it using your favourite software before print, however, if you do so, some of the parts may lose stability or look over scaled.

Model has 14 different pieces that you need to assembly as any other model kit: I attached an instruction booklet together with the downloaded files. Printing, painting and weathering will give a lot of fun.

This model can be a great addition to your layout or diorama.

• The kit has 14 parts: With the download you get both with and without supports.
• The supported files are not with the optimal printing orientation but with the optimal orientation according to minimize sanding and provided a perfect fit between parts. However, you can add supports according to your methods.
• The kit part T1 LAMP correspond to the lamp and has to be printed in clear resin.
• The kit has been designed to allow space for wiring in case you want to lighten with micro LEDs
