Baldur APC

A somewhat grimdark styled APC for use with scifi wargaming in the distant future of the 41st millennium... or else.

The Baldur APC is the Nibelung regiments' premier choice APC for their armoured columns. It can deliver a full infantry squad onto the battlefield and provide some serious fire support for its embarking troops.

Its basic design provied so versatile and durable that quite a number of vehicles were based on the Baldur's chassis, most notably the Sigurd MBT(which sacrifices amphibious and troop carrying capabilities for heavy firepower and armour protection), the Fasolt ARV, the Wellgunde Amphibious Assault Vehicle and the Hagen Armoured Supply Tractor.

The parts are alingned for FDM printing, so some fidgeting for STL printers will be necessary.

Everything goes together fairly easy, best use cyanoacrylate glue (gel!) for assembly. A little accelerelator won't hurt either. Depending on the filament type you're using, you might have to use some putty here and there, but most gaps should be hidden from notice.

The side stowage cabinets can either be mounted from outside or inside the outer track parts, whatever suits your taste best.

Model length is about 6", so everything will fit on a medium-sized build plate of a FDM printer. For smaller resin printers, you'll have to angle some pieces in a way that they fit the build plate - sizewise an Elegoo Mars or similar is big enough to print everything.

I printed my Baldurs on Artillery Sidewinders and Geniuses, with Primavalue White PLA filament at 195° C and Ankun White PLA at 205° at 0.15mm layer height and 2500 mm/min. Layer heights of 0.1mm and printing speeds of around 150mm / min improve quality significantly, but increase printing time enormously.

I strongly recommend using supports for the tracks, hull and upper hull parts. There's an alternate cupola (albeit a closed one) in case the split-style cupola isn't your cup of tea.
