3D model description

This 1/7.5 scale T-2A Buckeye was designed to achieve a high level of scale fidelity, including panel lines and raised panel detailing throughout the airframe. Pre-hinged gear doors are included, and spaces throughout the airframe have provisions to allow the installation of LEDs for navigation lights. The thick airfoil and straight wings allow for relatively slow flying and mild stall characteristics.

NOTE:
Model is designed to fit on the PRUSA MK2S (205x250x200). The largest piece Fuselage4 is "225x180*158" but can be split into 2 sections and glued back together easily. Majority of remaining pieces fit on a 200x200x200 build volume.

Full download contains both STLs and Gcodes. The Gcodes are specific for the Prusa i3 and for ABS as the primary material to print the fuselage. Remaining Gcodes are set as PETG for Light Lenses, PLA for Landing Gear, and TPU for Tires.

Design is based on a 2-perimeter (0.8mm wall thickness) construction approach to minimize the amount of internal supports needed. I am utilizing ABS as the parts can be welded together with acetone, and weigh ~15% less than PLA

Rev1 (03-28-2021)
Added STLs for Fuselage4 segments to fit a 220x220 build plate. EDF and ducting for Changesun 90mm and Jetfan80 included.

Rev2 (09-07-2023)
Added STLs for EDF and ducting for JP90 EDF. Assuming the inlet lip is not removable, Intake1 thru 3 can likely be omitted during install. I plan to design a modified battery tray and ESC holder for EDFs that have built in Inlet lips. A receiver tray was also added and located in the Fuselage folder. Confirmed Spar Tube STLs exist in the Fuselage folder.

3D printing settings

Refer to PDF manual included in the download, or from the provided links (free downloads). Download includes Prusa Gcodes.

Note that the included Gcodes are made for ABS. If you want to use the packaged Gcodes for PLA, you can tweak the Gcode files in a text editor to lower the nozzle temp to ~230 and Bed temp to ~60 deg F.
