Customizable 3 piece interlocking XYZ puzzle featuring OpenSCAD animated solution.
Single step through this puzzle's animated solution using OpenScad!
Customizable size, shape, and hole tolerance, single step solution and build plate .stl generation.
Instructions
(optional) Edit openscad file to adjust puzzle size and shape, and to adjust hole tolerance. Pieces sould fit snuggly enough to stay togeter on their own. A snug fit greatly aids assembly.
NO CHEATING! Only if you get stuck, use OpenScad to single step through the puzzle solution.
The holes in the .stl are slightly oversized to make the puzzle slide together easier with less wear. For a tighter puzzle, use customizer to reduce hole tolerance. Pieces fit perfectly on my printer with tolerance set to 5% over.
*** NOTE: .stl files of the assembled puzzle are intended for illustration purposed only and are not meant to be printed. Always generate build plate with move_number=0.
OpenSCAD Instructions
Check View|Animate in main menu for display mode
- set FPS=3 and Steps=6 on animate tool bar
- set mode=-1 for animation
- or for build plate set mode=0
- for single assembly steps, set mode=1 thru 5
To export build file, uncheck View/Animation and set move_number=0,
click F6 to compile, then use file export
Print at 0.2 mm layer height, with 10% infill. This uses 44 g of filament and takes 243 minutes.
