The most noisy thing on the Creality CR10/CR10S is the control box and especially the fans inside of the control box. Yet, there are many many videos on Youtube to replace those fans but I thought: why so complicated. No small fan can be slow enough to be silent and still pull enough air. Why not working on a solution, that makes it possible to replace all the fans inside the control box with a high performance case fan. Over the last years many hours of brain storming went into those fans to create silent fans wich still have a high air output.
The result of my engineering is this foot that replaces the bottom plate of the CR10/CR10S control box.
Open the box and remove the fans. Insert a high performance case fan (for example bequiet! pure wing or bequiet! silent wing) into the foot and connect the fan with one of the now free fan connectors inside the control box.
Insert a 1.75mm TPU (NinjaFlex or other flexible material) into the notches on the side (to make it air tight) and onto the bottom as vibration dampers. Insert the control box and enjoy the silence.
I personally made the observation its best to let the fan actively push air into the control box so the warm air can escape thru the vents.
The current photo is to make sure you know, what kind of control box I am talking about. More photos will follow soon.
Print the model in a 45° angle and it will fit perfectly even onto the small Creality print plate. Print slow and as hot as possible to make sure the layers are proberly fused together. Print with at least 3 outer layers and at least 10% infill. This is vital to ensure the mechanical stability of the foot.
