Willkommen in Österreich!
For the first time in the 7 years of MiniWorld3D, we are publishing a huge model. Breaking all boundaries, it was conceived to push you and your printer to the limit! Our most detailed & largest model to date:
The main façade of the Vienna City Hall, in collaboration with ZODIAC.
(*Read the Printing Details in the section after this)
The Vienna City Hall (German:* Wiener Rathaus)* is the seat of local government of Vienna, located on Rathausplatz. Constructed from 1872 to 1883 in a Neo-Gothic style according to plans designed by Friedrich von Schmidt, it houses the office of the Mayor of Vienna as well as the chambers of the city council and Vienna Landtag diet.
The design of the richly adorned facade is modelled on the Gothic architecture of Flemish and Brabant secular buildings like the Brussels Town Hall. It features five towers including the central tower with a height of 98 m (322 ft). On 21 October 1882, the Rathausmann statue was installed on the top, which soon became one of the symbols of Vienna (from Wikipedia).
The real building has an enormous area, with a floorplan shaped like a square spanning a whole large block, with several inner courtyards. This model depicts just the main façade, one of the sides of the large block, facing the Rathausplatz & Rathauspark.
This model was created in collaboration with ZODIAC as a torture and quality test. If you have a ZODIAC nozzle, can you pass this test? If you don't, try comparing results with and without one.
The modular design is meant to be printed very large, the photos show a 300% print, so all the minute details show up perfectly with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.
Parts included:
- Main tower (split in A. base, B. clock, C. belfry, D. spire)
- x4 side towers (each is different, and numbered accordingly)
- Façade R (with MiniWorld3D & ZODIAC logos)
- Façade L (with the model name)
- Corner (must mirror in your slicer to print the other side)
- Roof Main (must mirror in your slicer to print the other side)
- Roof Corner (must mirror in your slicer to print the other side)
To print this all as a single piece you must arrange all parts manually in your slicer and slice together at once.
MiniWorld3D is excited to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Austria. This model was designed completely from scratch using photos as reference, no scans or fixed Sketchup models, so it's pristine clean for 3D printing! Please give credit 🙏, it's all about spreading culture and education!
