3D Printable 18x18 Wall Chess 3D print model

This design is for an 18x18 chess set that can be wall mounted and has an 18x18 play area. The overall size of the one-piece chess board and the frame is 19.2x19.2. As a result, a large printer will be required. This part was made with a Creality CR-10-s500 with a 500x500 mm print bed. The chess board, back plate, frame, 32 black, and 32 white squares. To provide extra screw head clearance, separate files for the black top left and white top right squares. Unlike our smaller wall-mounted chess set, all squares are printed separately and glued in place. Gel-type instant adhesive was used. A rendering of what the board looks like after printing is also included. Sorry I did not take a picture before gluing the small shelves in place.

Screw mounting holes have been incorporated into the back of the board to screw mount to a wall. This chess board is relatively heavy. I do not recommend using the 3M picture hanging strips I used for the smaller 12x12 wall chess I also list on CGTrader.

Chess piece designs are also included with the files. Because the pieces are larger than the smaller 12x12 chess set, I was able to print them with a fused filament printer using a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.1 mm layer height, and 100% fill. A resin printer can also be used if you desire better detail. Other piece designs can be used if you have them. Different piece designs can be used if you have them.

Also included in the design files is a suitable storage box for the small pieces and a last-move marker. The box has a convenient removable tray for the parts.
