Description

Display Bambu Lab's latest infill style CrossHatch on your reusable spool!

My GYROID reusable filament spool was so popular, that I just had to do CrossHatch too!

This remix is based off the official Bambu Lab reusable spool model, so it functions exactly like the official spool, except has the added benefit of very cool infill patterns holding it all together! It also uses significantly less filament.

IMPORTANT - MUST READ

You need to be using the latest version of Bambu Studio as this version has the CrossHatch available. As of the date of publish (May 16th) this will not work in OrcaSlicer or other slicers until they incorporate CrossHatch infill.

Can I change any settings?

I would strongly advise you to NOT change any settings or modifiers in the print profile. I've spent a lot of time getting the right balance of strength and coolness, so each setting is there for a reason. The only settings you can change are filament settings if you want to print in something other than PLA.

What's the best filament to print this in?

PLA, PLA+, PLA Tough etc. are my favs here. To preserve the strength, it must print well and these print the best without missing a beat. If you dry a lot of filament, print them in PETG or ABS to avoid warping in filament dryers.

When I attach the spools, I can hear clicking. Should I be worried?

No, this is normal! The RFID tag may gently scrape against the infill patterns when closing the spool. Just keep going until it clicks in place.

Will this block my RFID readability?

Nope! Your AMS will read the tags fine with this reusable spool.

Do I need to use the spacing shim?

It's been added as a 3rd plate because the official Bambu Lab version uses it. I have never need it personally so I don't bother, but you can use it if you like.

printed with ABS+, feel strong enough and saved half filament compared with the Bambu official one, thank you

Printed just fine, but unfortunately, at the expense of rigidity, which was needed. Not to worry, they will still find a home. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback! I might release a v2 which is a bit stiffer with a higher density of infill. Just need to balance rigidity with being able to actually see the pattern (and save filament vs the Bambu original).

Hello, the spool printed very smoothly, it seems OK to be used on my AMS Lite. I have a question regarding the label. On your photograph you have a label PLA Matte on the spool. Where can I find the label? Thanks

Yep the AMS Lite can take it easily from my testing. Each refill box comes with a label sticker (usually in the middle with the cardboard part). Sometimes it gets stuck and is easy to accidentally throw out. Hope that helps!

This spool looks awesome with the crosshatch infill! Plus its strong enough that it doesn't bow out so much that it won't fit in the AMS.
