My new herb grinder with pollum compartment and (optional) hand crank
Grinder diameter: 50mm. Special feature: Modular interchangeable.

raft: (I recommend PolySupport from PolyMaker)
4Inlay_bottom_D1.stl
5Inlay_top.stl
10Knob.stl
support: (I recommend PolySupport from PolyMaker)
8bearing(Z+6mm).stl AND 8connector(+bearing).stl
First load "8Verbinder". Then load "8bearing". Align both in the center. "8Bearing"
must be moved upwards in Z +6mm. then add support.
-> make sure that the support material is not too close to the connector. See picture_3!
otherwise it will be difficult to remove and will no longer fit into the counterpart.
assembly:
First unscrew finished part 8.
then remove the burr from part 6 using a fine file. (alternatively, this part 6
can also be printed with raft).
then press the short pin of part 8 into part 6. It may and should
fit well, which is why a possible burr on part 6 is not necessarily a disadvantage.
make sure that it lies flat. (possibly use a hammer with feeling)
then insert the whole thing into part 7. it just fits in here too. that's intentional!
then part 9 (crank) with the side without the elephant foot on the long spigot of part 8
press / press. Afterwards, part 9 should also lie flat on part 7. so don't worry about the bearing
(of part 8) slightly "bend" from below. the flat contact should prevent any tilting
of the grinder. Important! the longer pin of part 8 will then protrude slightly.
align the larger hole of part 9 over the hole of part 7. then put part 10 all the way down there
This serves to lock it so that you can (pre-)grind by hand, as usual.
then push part 5 into part 6. the lugs are used for correct alignment. make sure that
the part 5 lies nicely in part 6. so it may also make clipping noises.
press part 4 into part 2 with feeling. it is best to start first and then rotate it in a circle several times.
until it is fully seated and lies flat. this can also be recognized by this,
that it is flush at the top.
then insert part 3 into part 2 from below. it will only fit if the lugs are correctly aligned with the notches.
are aligned correctly. when it is all the way in/up, turn part 3 by 90 degrees. this allows the
pollum compartment can no longer accidentally fall out.
last but not least, slide part 1 (TPU) onto part 2.
application:
put the complete upper onto the complete lower. grind as usual.
if you then want to crank it to grind it finer, insert the knob part 10 into the
second, the smaller hole, of the crank part 9. now (right-hander:) with the left
thumb to hold the upper one, i.e. make sure that the upper one remains in place. then
crank with your right hand. finally, put the knob part 9 back again (lock).
the first time, it is advisable to turn the crank (without herbs) a few times (approx. 30 turns).
so that the whole thing runs in and any small particles are loosened and
fall out. after all, you don't want them to end up in the ground coffee and steam/smoke with it.
so, i hope everything is well explained. enjoy!
