Orphan Espresso (OE) Fixie comes with three discs and several shims to set your preferred grind size. All of the shims combined are 1mm, which was way too course for where I typically grind for coldbrew, and the #3 (3.5mm) was too fine - so I made thinner discs.
The thinner the shim, the more coarse the grind. There is one blank shim, that you can adjust the height if you want to dial in to a specific mm using the scale option in the Bambu slicer.
Disc | Thickness | Weight |
---|---|---|
7 | 1.5 mm | 1.76g |
6 | 2.0 mm | 1.98g |
5 | 2.5 mm | 2.20g |
4 | 3.0 mm | 2.32g |
The delrin discs from OE:
Disc | Thickness | Weight |
---|---|---|
3 | 3.5 mm | 4g |
2 | 4.0 mm | 4g |
1 | 4.5 mm | 5g |
If you don't know OE, they make some of the highest quality coffee grinders on the market.
