Description

If you have small kids in car seats, things can sometimes get messy in the car. Our kids like to have drinks, snacks, and toys with them on their car rides, so I designed a small tray and cup holder that can fit in one of the existing car seat cup holders.

There are 3 components - insert, tray, and cup holder. The insert fits into the existing cup holder. We have 2 different Graco car seats and the insert fits in both of them nice and snug. The tray fits over the insert and can rotate freely to easily move the tray out of the way when not being used. The cup holder sits on top of the tray and insert so you still have a cup holder.

I printed all parts in PLA Basic at 0.2mm layer height on the A1 Mini. The cup holder does need supports but the tray and insert can be printed without supports. I included the 3mf file and STL files. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

The model works great and printed well. I used this model for a Nuna car seat, too. However, I need an extension that I'm modeled up. If it works, I'll upload the file.

Did it work? I'd be interested in one that fits a Nuna. Thanks!

not really. I glued the extension on yesterday and I'm gonna test it again.

for those not aware, please make sure you're only printing this with a stainless steel nozzle (to avoid lead poisoning) and food safe filament ! looks like a great design

great point! thanks for highlighting this. we also don't put the open food or snacks directly on the printed tray or cup holder. we always have the food in a bag or food safe container, and then place those on the tray or in the cup holder. always need to be cautious when dealing with food related prints, especially for kids.

Can you expand on this a little more? Does the hardened steel nozzle on the Bambu X1C have lead, for example? Anyone got a recommendation of a food safe filament? I'm assuming Bambu's standard PLA doesn't cut it?

yes the hardened steel nozzles have lead in the allow. Use stainless steel for food contact prints. https://blog.prusa3d.com/how-to-make-food-grade-3d-printed-models_40666/

I have been waiting for someone to properly design a child seat cup and tray holder. I printed this for a buddy at work for his kids and will probably print it for my kids.
