Description

This is the short version of my trusty clip to snap on the edge of the Bambu spool. Shape and measurements have been optimized to further improve attachment to the spool and the shortening allows you to further reduce printing times and the quantity of filament used.

This clip will never come off accidentally and you can slide it along the edge to find the best position to hold the filament.

You can use the clip with the AMS Lite without having to detach it, but if you are going to put the spool in the closed AMS you must first remove the clip. If you want a clip that doesn't have to be detached when using the closed AMS, consider downloading my “Bambu Spool filament Clip internal” or the newest “Dual Slot Filament Clip”.

Please note: before downloading and printing third-party profiles, check that these have been first tested by the author and that they do not upload stolen images from those published by other users. Also check that the profile does not compromise strength, quality and printability just to save a couple of minutes of printing. This warning is not to discourage the contributions of many good designers, but to help exclude from Makerworld the many dishonest people who only upload rubbish!

5 stars!!! it wont let me actually give 5 stars, due to the fact that I cancelled the print with only one layer left. they came off the bed right at the end. but all the clips are serviceable and do their jobs. so no need to reprint

Thank you! Probably if you increase the brim they won't come off.

yeah I thought of that after. kinda new to printing. learning the hard way. also just threw it on from the app. so no brim. they all work though.

Also its always a good idea to wash your print plate with soap and water, if parts are starting to peel off.

Printed this in Bambu basic PETG. The groove for the filament doesn't feel grippy enough to be secure. I added a second clip on the same spool for extra reassurance.

Hi @musicbug08, the filament must be pressed all the way into the slot, or inserted laterally. I always do a lot of tests before publishing the model, but what you noticed is right: with PETG the slot is at least 1/10 of a millimeter wider and the filament does not always remain firmly in place, so I modified the measurements slightly (the blue clip in the photo) and uploaded a print specific profile for PETG. Thank you. P.S. you get the best "click" when inserting the filament with PLA Basic

Thank you, I will give the updated profile a try. And also try printing one in PLA.

Just wanted to share an update that the version I printed in PLA does work quite well.

Good size for quick prints, thankyou for resizing. Could possibly be a little deeper groove as it feels a bit loose with some filament (slippery silk).

Hi, you can try the "PETG" profile of this clip which is a little narrower, it probably also fits silk filaments. If it's still too wide let me know and I'll upload another one.

Thank you. For the Sunlu spools I made a specific version, but I see from the photo that your spool is very different from the ones I have: mine only have a small step on the outside, not a large one like I see in yours. However you can find it here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/80529#profileId-85594
