Description

Everything that has to do with barbershops and the culture around them has always been something I'm passionate about. So why not combine this passion with 3D design to make a stunning barbershop lamp?

Transform your space into a vibrant haven with the barbershop's lamp. Showcase it in various setups - whether on a table, on a wall or on an IKEA Skadis board.

Extra parts needed :

  • LED Lamp Kit from Bambu Lab
  • CA Glue *Do a dry fit before the final glued assembly

If you choose to mount the light, please use the ‘’Mounted Lamp'' print profile as the clamp, mounting slides and different side columns are included. Take note that the wall mount is designed to be used with #8 screws.

Smooth sides for the ‘’Table Version''

Sides with a notch to hold the clamp and arrows pointing up for help during assemble on the ‘’Mounted Version''

Features specific to 3D printing have been used in this project, notably the following ones :

  • Flexibility of thin prints : the lamp shade is printed flat on the buildplate to minimize color changes. The flexible nature of thin 3D prints makes it so the lamp shad can be bent into the right shape for this project
  • Adaptive layer height in the slicer is used on the top piece, this ensures that there is a smooth finish throughout the print

Printing tips :

  • Print the ‘’Lamp Shade'' profile as well as either the ‘’Table Version'' or ‘’Mounted Version'' profile
  • Make sure your bed is clean and that bed adhesion is not a problem, especially for the lamp shade print - Don't hesitate to use glue
  • Make sure you let the lamp shade cool down properly before taking it off the bed
  • Make sure to use the provides print profiles as the settings have been precisely tuned

Post processing before assembly (see Youtube Video HERE for assembly instructions) :

  • Remove the supports from the top and bottom pieces
  • If you chose the mounted version, remove the supports from the clamp
  • If you chose the IKEA Skadis mounting slide, cut the brim off of the pegs and remove the supports

The length of the lampshade is exactly 236mm The diameter Main Body measured is 74.15mm x 3.14mm = 232.83mm It cannot fit with these print settings without cutting the lampshade. Otherwise nice model but you have not subtracted the 4 mm bar. Anyway, thanks for the barbershop lamp, it turned out very nice and makes a great light. A rotating version of the lampshade would be next level.

I'll take a look at the files and run some tests. Thanks for posting a picture of your finished lamp!

You were right, it seems like I didn't publish the latest version of the file when I uploaded it. The shade is now shorter
