Description

Print this in addition to Bambu's heatbed cable protector to protect both the top and the bottom heatbed cable connection sites from excessive bending which can lead to cable failure.

This is a clip on bed cable support I designed for the Bambu Lab A1 printer. This clips on to the back of the bed in between the power cable and the top of the heat bed. Attach the cable support from the bottom angled as shown in the last picture above and pull it up to clip on to the top of the heat bed with the clips on each side of the power cable. Use a small zip tie to secure the cable to the cable support with the hole on the bottom. This design does need supports to print on the top clips. As this clips on to the heatbed, PETG is the better material to use for this clip rather than PLA. I have tested this design to ensure it does not interfere with printing.

Would have thought this was kind of self explanatory, but it prevents sagging and bending of the heatbed cable. If you haven't heard, there is a callback on the A1 heatbed cable due to some cables bending at the base and causing failures which can lead to fires. This prevents bending at the connection to the heatbed and Bambu's design prevents bending at the bottom connection. More information on this can be found here: https://blog.bambulab.com/a1-heatbed-cable-callback/

Thank you for your work. For me it was not a sagging issue as much as it was a bowing up issue. For some reason my bed cable arc upwards and the print head was rubbing against it during the nozzle cleaning cycle. The cable was starting to show abrasion marks. This clip pulled it down enough to create proper clearance without causing any other issues.

Other Issues:It is a very fragile design, easy to detach from the bed...

Fits perfect! Printed perfect. Whether this atually helps, who knows, but can't hurt and would rather protect the cable as much as possible.
