Hey everybody,
one of my other hobbies is photography and I've got an fine art Printer which prints up to A3+ format. Since I change the pictures on my wall quite regularly, I wanted a simple and quick solution to put my pictures on the wall. If you are the same, look no further.
Here comes the ultimate
Photo / Picture rail
Features:
- Its available in different sizes:
- A4 portrait (20cm)
- A4 Landscape/A3 portrait (30cm)
- A3 landscape (42 cm)
- The 42cm version is suitable for the 48cm wide landscape format of A3+ too. Works like charm.
- Strong grip. You need 5mm x 2mm round magnets. The cheap ones on amazon are strong enough to hold an A3+ sheet of 300g FineArt paper.
- good compromise between low profile and stability
How to print:
- just slab it onto your build plate, print with standard settings
- the two smaller ones consist of two parts
- the big one has 4 parts
- if you have adhesion problems especially on the edges of your build plate, I recommend adding a brim or mouse ears.
How to assemble:
- the hinge is not print in place
- you need to push a small strip of 1.75mm filament into it
- if the holes are to small, its most probably because of the z-seam. Just use a small round file or a rolled strip of sanding paper to make it a little bigger
- glue in the magnets with super glue (make sure to have the orientation correct)
- for the 42xm rail: glue together part 1 and 3 and part 2 and 4
