Description

========================================================
Update v2:

I shortened the wiper a bit, as it was scraping pretty hard against the nozzle.
This is because of less springiness in comparison with the stock wiper.
I also rounded the edge on the block part, where the wiper pushes against, for hopefully more springiness.
You can mix and match both versions. Everything should fit.

The length of the wiper is from the bottom of it to the top of the PTFE tube when mounted.
Just for reference and if you need a custom one.
========================================================

I liked the idea of having a brush nozzle wiper to get rid of the gunk on the nozzle.
But I had problems with only the brush, as sometimes a lot of filament got tangled in the brush.

This is my attempt at combining the brush wipers with the stock PTFE wiper.
I changed the length of the printable stock wiper to fit the height I needed.
I then added a hole to the bottom of the brush wiper to fix the new wiper with the screws provided by the stock wiper.

I saw a similar design by @PaintballDNA_197233, but as he wasn't ready to release it into the wild I made my own.

Printing:

  • Orientation should be already correct in the files. You can also see it in the pictures.
  • Enable normal support for the PTFE wiper. The block should print fine without additional support.
  • I printed both parts with 100% infill which seems to work fine.

Assembly:

I made a short video of the assembly:

I forgot to mention cutting the brush bristles to size.
The original model said 20mm from the bottom of the print to the tip of the bristles.
I cut them to ~19.3mm to not brush against the silicone sock on the nozzle.

For the original instructions look at the model this is a remix of:
https://www.printables.com/model/407433-bambu-x1-nozzle-brush
Just add the printed stock wiper part before fixing the whole thing to the printer.

I also added my attempt at combining the two models into one.
This is just cobbled together, doesn't print all that nice, and is not tested as of yet.
Don't expect it to work reliably.

If you have any ideas on how to improve the design, need a version with slightly other dimensions, or have general questions, just ask.

Hello, the problem is the following. When the nozzle goes into the parking position, it comes completely in front of the wiper! Since this is in exactly the same position as the parking position. If the filament comes out of the nozzle, it gets stuck everywhere!

As an improvement: I'm just curious why you didn't include the alignment pegs on the bottom of the Nozzle Wiper (similar to the Bambu OEM wiper), and matching holes on the block?

A good start but still needs work. The wiper is the same height as the original wiper, but it needs to be taller to take up the height lost due to the lower mount location. Also, I see the model this was remixed from has breakaway supports but they're missing in this version. This is unprintable in this orientation without the supports.

PTFE tube hangs too low nozzle does not reach PTFE tube

Upon installing, I was unable to use the same screw as the wiper, I had to find a longer screw to use. I'm wondering if the depth is thicker, thus doesn't go down well.
