Description

Wanted to create a desktop clock that mimicked one I saw created out of a real piston and connecting rod. I didn't want to pay $100 for it though, so, design and print it! The parts used in this are very inexpensive. With the chicago screws you get 10 for the price below, but they are super handy, so buying a whole of varying sizes is a just a little more and worth it IMHO.

clock @ $5.99 : https://a.co/d/ed6cLW1
chicago screw @ $7.29 : https://a.co/d/dHBgGbE

Note that you can use just about anything that's an M5 diameter, but the back of the print has two slots for 2 x M5 x 25 chicago style screws.

My plan is to use Rub-n-Buff on it to make it look like real metal.

This model is easy to print and lt looks amazing finished. I was making it for a gift but after i seen it, i printed one for myself. I had a few questions, so i emailed jeff who designed the piston. He replies fast and is super helpful. I cant wait to print more of his models.

The clock has small tabs that are basically springs, they allow it to "snap" into place, but it can still be removed without much effort for battery change etc. 15% infill I'm pretty sure, but it's whatever was in the .3MF. Chicago screws are the axis that the silver gear in the middle spins on. And thanks!
